Delete your account
Two ways. The first you can do yourself right now; the second is for when you no longer have the app.
1. In the app — do it yourself
Open Tradie2U and go to Settings → Delete my account. Settings is the gear at the top of My Trade if you are a tradie, My Home if you are a customer, or Profile if you have a labourer account. Your account and its data are deleted at once, and you do not need to contact us. Photos and documents are deleted from our storage within two hours.
This is the quickest route and the one we would suggest if you still have the app installed.
2. By email — if you have deleted the app
Email us from the address on the account. That is how we know it is you — we will not delete an account on a request from an address we cannot match, because that would be a way to delete somebody else's.
Send "Delete my account" and nothing else is needed.
Email a deletion requestWe action these within 7 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in
- Your name, email, phone number and saved address
- Your tradie profile — business name, ABN, logo, photos and the bio customers read
- Your licences, specialties and insurance, and the certificates on your profile
- Your home record, with its photos and documents
- Your job history as a customer, and the photos and documents on those jobs
- Your ratings — the ones you left and the ones left for you — and the reviews with them (except the yes or no answers on a labour booking: see below)
- All stored location — your place on the map, and any home zone you set
- Your messages
- Your push notification tokens
- If you have a labourer account: your card (your photo, name, suburb, pay and days, what you wrote about yourself, and the photos of your work), your tickets and their photos, your record of days worked and the ratings tradies left you, the posts you said you were keen on, and the record of who looked at your card
- If you are a tradie who hires labourers: your posts for a hand on site, and who was keen on them
What is kept, and why
A record that a completed job happened is kept — who it was between, what trade, and when. It is what gives the other person on that job an accurate work history, and it is not ours alone to erase.
It does not include your name, contact details, address or messages.
If you are a tradie, photos and certificates you sent on a customer's job stay with that job for as long as it exists — it is their record too.
On a labour booking, the yes or no ratings you gave the other person stay on their record as counts, without your name, and days already worked stay on the tradie's record without the labourer's name.
How long it takes
- In the app: your account and its data at once. Photos and documents are files rather than records, and an hourly sweep deletes them from our storage within two hours.
- By email: within 7 days, and we reply to confirm.
- Encrypted backups roll off within 30 days.
Deleting is permanent. There is no undo, and signing up again later starts an empty account.
