Your job goes to the tradie you picked and nobody else, and they have a set time to answer. No auction, and no five callbacks from people you never rang.

Every tradie on the map has already said when they can come. That is the whole product — you stop guessing who is going to pick up.

See who works around you and whether they are free, before you type a single word. No sign-up to look — the account only comes when you actually ask someone.
Ask the one you want.
Photos, a line about the job, send. It is held for that tradie alone and they have minutes, not days, to answer. You will know either way.
Watch them turn up.
They accept, you get their name and number, and they set an arrival time. Once they are on the way you can watch them coming instead of ringing to ask.

A score that had to be earned twice.
You rate the tradie and the tradie rates you, only on jobs that actually finished. However many jobs it is built on is printed right next to it, because five stars from one job is not five stars from forty.

Those two never get averaged together, and neither is a tradie rating another tradie. One is what households thought of the work; the other is what a tradie thought of the job they were sent to.
Licences
We point. We don't vouch.
Every licence on a profile shows its number beside a link to the register that can confirm it. Ten seconds, and you are checking with the regulator instead of trusting a tick we drew ourselves.
Energy Safe Victoria, the Building and Plumbing Commission and ARCtick are wired up today. Outside Victoria a licence still shows with its number, but it will not carry a check link until we have added that state's register.
An expired licence is shown and flagged, never hidden. Hiding one would make a lapsed ticket read as no ticket at all — a decision about somebody's professional standing that we are not entitled to make quietly.

We are not in every street yet and the app will not pretend otherwise. Where nobody covers you, it says so plainly instead of leaving a request nobody is going to see.
08 — Straight answers
The questions people actually ask.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. The app is free, for customers and for tradies. What the job costs is between you and the tradie — they quote you directly and you pay them directly, exactly as you would if you had rung them. Tradie2U never takes a payment and never asks for a card.
Do I have to sign up just to look?
No. You can open the map and browse without an account. You only make one when you actually ask a tradie for something — and whatever you were doing carries over.
What happens if the tradie doesn't answer?
You are told, and you pick someone else. The offer runs out on its own — 15 minutes if you need someone now, two hours for today, twelve for tomorrow. A job never sits there looking live when nobody is coming.
Is it only electricians?
Not only — but it is close, and we would rather say so than let you find out. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters and tilers have tradies on the map today. The other fifteen trades are in the app and go live the moment somebody joins. Whatever you search for, the map shows you who actually covers you rather than a promise.
Can a tradie see exactly where I live?
Not until they have accepted your job. Before that they see your suburb and a rough distance — no name, no phone number, no address. Those appear the moment they say yes, and not a second earlier.
What do customers see of a tradie?
A circle, not a pin on a doorstep. Positions are snapped to a fixed ~500 m grid before they ever leave the server, and distance and radius are measured from that snapped point — so no amount of searching narrows it down. A tradie can drop to a 5 km circle, or off the map entirely, whenever they like.
Can I get it now?
Both versions are with the stores. The iPhone and Android listings are going through Apple's and Google's review, and the buttons on this page point straight at them — each one starts working the moment it clears. Until then there is nothing to install, and we would rather say so than have you tap a button and wonder what went wrong.
