TRADIE2U

Terms of service

Last updated 7 September 2026 · Tradie2U, Melbourne, Australia

These are the rules for using Tradie2U, and the agreement between you and True Line Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN 29 696 139 929). Creating an account means you accept them. They are written the same way the privacy policy is — to be read rather than survived — and the short version is: we introduce two people, and the work itself is between them.

The short version

What Tradie2U is

Tradie2U shows people which tradies are working near them and lets them ask one for a job. Tradies use it both ways — to be found, and to hire other trades.

We are not a party to the work. Any job arranged here is between the customer and the tradie. We do not employ, engage, supervise or subcontract anyone. We do not set prices, quote, guarantee that anyone accepts a job, or guarantee the quality, safety, timeliness or legality of work done.

We do not verify licences. Where a tradie lists a licence, registration or insurance policy, we show what they entered beside a link to the register that issued it. We have not checked it. Showing it is not an endorsement and not a warranty that it is current or genuine — check the register yourself, it takes about ten seconds. Expired credentials are shown and flagged as expired rather than hidden, because hiding one would make a lapsed licence read as no licence at all.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Give accurate details and keep them current. One person, one account — do not share a login, and tell us if you think somebody else has yours.

If you use Tradie2U as a tradie, you confirm you hold every licence, registration, permit and insurance the work requires, and that you will comply with the law that applies to it, including workplace health and safety and electrical, plumbing and building safety law.

What it costs

Nothing. No lead fees, no per-job charge, no subscription, and we take no share of what you charge or pay. The app takes no payment and stores no card — what a job costs and how it is paid is settled between the two of you, off the app. If that ever changes we will tell you before it applies to you.

Jobs, offers and cancelling

Content and conduct

You are responsible for what you post — job descriptions, photos, messages, business details, reviews. You keep it; you give us permission to store it and show it to the people it has to reach for the app to work.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Content or conduct that breaks these rules is removed, and the account behind it can be suspended or terminated without notice.

Do not post, send or do any of this:

Reporting and blocking

Every chat and every profile has a Report action, and you can block anyone so you stop seeing each other. Blocking is silent — the other person is not told. Reports come to us.

We read every report within a day and remove what breaks these rules. Depending on what we find we may warn, suspend or permanently remove the account, and we may report serious matters to police or a regulator. You can also write to us directly at support@tradie2u.com.au.

Ratings and reviews

Ratings exist only on jobs that actually finished, and who is being rated is worked out by us rather than chosen by the person rating. The number of ratings is always shown beside the average, because five stars from one job is not five stars from forty. Reviews must be your own first-hand experience of that job. We remove reviews that break the conduct rules above. We do not remove a review for being unfavourable.

Location and privacy

A tradie who chooses to appear on the map is shown as a deliberately coarse area, never an exact position, and contact details are exchanged only once a job is accepted. All of it is in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Suspension, and leaving

You can stop using Tradie2U and delete your account whenever you like — in the app it is You → Delete my account. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently or unsafely, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to, we will tell you why.

Liability

Nothing here excludes or limits any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that: Tradie2U is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular tradie or customer will be available, reply, or perform. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what users do or fail to do, for the quality, safety or legality of work arranged through the app, for any agreement or dispute between users, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of doing so.

You agree to cover us against claims and losses arising from your breach of these terms, from your content, or from work you perform or receive.

Disagreements between users

Arguments about the work, the price or the outcome are between the customer and the tradie. We are not an arbitrator and we will not adjudicate them. We can provide records of app activity where a law, a court or a regulator requires it. Consumers in Victoria can contact Consumer Affairs Victoria, and disputes about licensed electrical, plumbing or building work can be raised with the regulator for that trade.

If you got the app from Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for addressing any claim you have about it — including product liability, a failure to meet a legal requirement, or a claim under consumer protection law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Tradie2U after that means you accept the update.

Governing law

Victoria, Australia, and the courts of that state.
